Powerline Adapters Not Connecting My PC

Im trying to set up a powerline network for my new PC, using the Zyxel PLA4211 adapters.

I followed the install instructions, plug one into the router, and one into the PC.

Both adapters show a green power light and a green light that signals they are connecting to ethernet ports, but my computer isnt connecting to the internet.

Can anyone help?

Can you ping your router (usually 192.168.0.1)?

Go to a command prompt on your computer (START > Command Prompt), and type "PING 192.168.0.1" and press enter (remove the quotes).

That would indicate you have no connectivity.

On the back of your computer where the network cable is plugged in - are there lights on?

Also, on the router where the cable is plugged in - are there lights on that port (from the powerline adapter to the router)?

All the necessary lights are on including those on the back of the router

Is the HomePlug light on (light with house/plug symbol)? If not, the adapters are not communicating with each other.

First test the adapters on outlets that are close to each other (on the same circuit). The HomePlug lights should show a connection.

Make sure the adapters are not plugged in to power strips or surge protectors. They must be plugged directly into the wall outlet.

The adapters may not work if they are placed on outlets fed by an opposing circuit breaker.

It is BUT #4, the AFCI breakers and #5 the power strips discussion is relevant to not being able to connect...

I would bring them to another house, and see if they connect. Also make sure that they still have the same encryption key; there is a sequence with the owner's manual (Chapter 2).
