Powerline Kit Problems

So, I have a powerline adapter kit for my pc. And yesterday I was getting 14mpbs but today I am only getting 6 mpbs. I tried turning my router off and turning it back on. Unplugging and replugging the powerline kit. So I took it to my basement where the other powerline kit was plugged in. I put it in the wall went on my dad's pc and disabled his wireless and plugged in the powerline output to my dads ethernet. He got 14mbps but I only get 6? But yesterday it was 14 mpbs. Not sure what could be wrong...

Probably something is plugged in today that wasn't plugged in yesterday. Meaning something is generating noise in the electrical wiring that is hindering the powerline network connectivity. Could be something as simple as a cell phone charger.
