Hello,

I have recently purchased a powerline adapter with passthrough capabilities and was wondering if I would get better performance if I was not using the outlet from the powerline adapter.

I can't really do that lol... all the plugs near my computer and the router are used or too close to one another and the powerline blocks. I guess i'll try asking tp link's customer support.

I don't believe customer service can give you a DEFINITIVE answer. If you plugged an incandescent desk lamp in. It would generate very little noise on the electrical circuit. If you plugged a worn out fan with a bad motor, it could generate huge noise on the electrical circuit and negatively impact your powerline network. There is no one-size-fits-all answer. It depends on what you are plugging in. All you can do is test.

Then I'm kind of gonna guess that it will affect my performance because I have a surge protector connected to the adapter with my pc, monitors, phone charger, a AAA battery charger, etc.
