Powerline VS Range Extenders?

Sorry for my bad English, I speak French.

Hi! My router is downstairs, and my computer is upstairs. I'm supposed to have these speeds: 30 downloads/10 uploads. When I run Speedtest.net on my pc, I get half of that. I guess it is because I'm using wireless instead of ethernet?
I saw 2 solutions: Powerline/Range Extenders.
Which one is the best? (Which one is faster, cheaper, etc...)
Will there be interference between the powerline and other things?
I'm a noob.

Powerline adapters use the power plugs in your house to connect to the main electrical cables under the floors or inside the walls. Transfer speeds are increased a lot and you get much less interference. Yes powerline adapters are still susceptible to electromagnetic interference but then everything on the planet is. Range Extenders are essentially routers with larger antennas and are more prone to interference since they use radio transmission(Wi-Fi). In my opinon go for the powerline adapters, even if they cost more. It's safer in the long run. I had the exact same problem in my house, bought a normal cable router to use as hotspot and connected everything else with two sets of powerline adapters. Works like a charm. Hope I helped ;)
