Hey everyone. Unfortunately in my apartment, hard wiring would be a complete b**ch, so I am trying to do anything to forgo that idea, and wi-fi as well.

I spoke to some people that said Gigiabit Powerline adapters next to your router and one in your room will be as good as hard-wire.

So with that said, what is seriously the BEST powerline options, money is not an issue I just do not want to lose drastic speed compared to wi-fi from my room. Thanks for the help!!

Apartments are very tough. If your not able to run a CAT5e ethernet cable I would give the powerline adapter a try. Wireless is also an option but it is often a nightmare in apartments because of so many people having wireless in a small area.
The best powerline adapter I know of currently is the TP-Link TL-PA6010KIT.

Powerline adapters are not as good as a hard wired ethernet cable. Some are about as good as a 100Mbit Ethernet but none are anywhere close to Gigabit ethernet (in fact the best is not even 25% of a Gigabit ethernet speed). Powerline adapters can be better than wireless, though, in many instances.

Powerline within an apartment building may also not be the answer. Depending on how it is wired, 1 room may not be able to talk to another room, or your apartment may be on the same general circuit as your neighbor, and with a similar power line device...may be on your network.

my pc is about 20 feet from the router, through a closet and walls. So it's really not the best connection in there to be honest...I wish I could do hardwired but it would have to be some crazy way of doing it in my case.

Are you currently using 2.4 or 5Ghz wireless on your PC? You may want to get some software so you can see everyone's wireless nearby to help you find a free channel. Wireless may yet be the best for you if set up correctly. I use inSSIDer, which used to be free but I think it cost now. Anyway you need something to scan the airwaves to see what all is in use so you can find a free channel.
