powers up for 1 second then turns off

can some one tell me why my motherboard powers up for 1 second then turns off

This could be your power on and reset wires in the wrong place

i coped the wires diagram from the motherboard and it came on and then i turned it on and put dvd rom in it but the wiers was in the way so i unplug them all put the dvd rom in and then the wires back in but then it wont boot up i left the power supply in

i think i short circuit the board
