Powershell will randomly open, then close. About half of the time, it will also reboot Chrome (close the browser and open the original pages and an extra tab).
I have unistalled and reinstalled Chrome, ran CCleaner, Malware Bytes, and a full virus scan with no issues (no spyware, malware, viruses, etc.)

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

Look in Task Manager - Startup tab. Any thing that you do not recognize or expect? (Do not immediately delete - find out what it is before doing anything.

Also look in Task Scheduler - there may be some trigger set up to launch a Powershell script.

Search your system for any files with a .ps1 extension.

Interesting.

Are you able to determine in Task Scheduler what triggers the script?

If you did not intentionally install Chrome Loader (or anything else for that matte)r and/or have any idea where it came from then you have a suspect.

Not a Chrome user (full disclosure) so I do not have any references regarding "ChromeLoader".

Look in Reliability History and Event Viewer. Any error codes, warnings, or even informational events that likewise correlate with "2 days ago"?

I think that was the issue, must have been a dodgy file I downloaded a couple of days ago and added the task to my Scheduler... odd

I timed it on the money, bang on 10 minutes after the last event Powershell popped up and Chrome refreshed...

Thanks for the help mate.

Have a great evening.

Hey! I've been having the same issue and I've looked all over my files and etc to see if I could find the exact issue and I have yet to discover anything. Powershell (which I believe triggers it, has been disabled.) and I have no idea what to do at this point. It's really stressing me out.
