powrprof.dll startup problems

Hi,
I am stumped. When I boot my win 98 computer, I get the following message "Cannot start Powrprof.dll." It doesn't affect performance at all, it's just annoying and I want to get rid of it.
I did what Microsoft's knowledge base said and extracted the file from the Win98 cd. This did not work. I also tried extracting, rundll32.exe, powercfg.dll and cfgmgr.dll. None of those worked either. There is no power managment icon in the control panel either, if that means anyhting. Please email with any ideas.

Try running msconfig...select the startup tab...unselect the LoadPowerProfile items

Thanks Spdy, but there are no loadpowerprofile items on the startup tab. Maybe this means there are missing registry entries?
Another note: I don't know if it matters, but I think this system has been "forcibly" upgraded from win95 to win98. IE: it was not upgraded with an upgrade disk but probably had the win.com file named changed to allow an overwrite of win98.
