PPC vs x86

Hello all, this is another one of my newb-y questions.

I know pretty much nobody uses them anymore but is it true that PowerPC processor are more efficient than x86?

As in a PowerPC G5 chip at 2.0Ghz is better than a similar x86 chip such as the Pentium 4 at 2.8Ghz?

I know the processors in this example are old but you get my point, which give you more bang for your buck?

Haha, yeah Pentium 4's are a piece of crap xD

However, they came out at the same time so they are comparable, I bet if IBM really tried they could make a PowerPC processor that could compete with the i7 Basically you answered my question but I would like other to crime in, thanks for the article.
