[SOLVED] Pre-Applied Thermal Paste

Hi

So for the last few days I have noticed that my stock intel cooler is making a lot of noise and want to change it.
I have another aftermarket air cooler which I have had in storage for around 16 months.
It has thermal paste already applied on it however I am just wondering as there is no protective cover on it would the paste still be ok after 15 months? its new and not been taken out the box
I could just order more paste but its going to take a few days to get and the noisy fan is concerning me. Thanks

you need new paste and check the old fan if the blade are not of balance also if you could remove the fan a little dip of oil in the cneter hub might help for bearing wear from use .

Yeah I'd replace the Thermal past, Chance are its dried out and wouldn't cool effectively.
