Question Pre Built acting up as if I haven't payed for it's worth.

Do indeed return the pre-built to BestBuy or contact Asus.

Reason being that anything you do in an attempt to "repair" the shutdowns could be deemed a violation of warranty terms.

No one likes to have to return things but the way things are I would take the pre-built back. For all you know you may have received a "reconditioned" unit that just was not labeled or identified as such.

Get a replacement computer if you wish or just a refund. Maybe the store manager can offer an upgrade for the inconvenience. Especially if your model is now out of in store stock.

Negotiate, or at least try to do so. If nothing can be worked out - then use the refund option.
