Hi guys,

I know it's pretty much frowned upon about pre-built systems on here, but at the moment I can't go in the direction of building my own, so i'm after a system just to multi-task and browse the internet aswell as being able to play games to a decent standard (The likes of Battlefield and such). Anyway, I've been browsing the net to found myself a system baring in mind I didn't really have any idea of what I'd be after till reading these forums! I've managed to find two systems that are within my budget and look pretty tidy and I'm just wondering if you guys could give me a heads up on them.

System 1 - http://www.box.co.uk/Cube_Sniper_Gaming_PC_Core_i7_with_Gefor_1659212.html
System 2 - http://www.box.co.uk/Cube_Panther_Gaming_PC_Core_i5_with_Gefo_1745797.html

Any help would be greatly appreciated here.

that would be a solid system. the 4690k can be overclocked easily to 4 ghz on the stock cooler if that is what it comes with. giving that little boost to overall performance.

the 750ti would be plenty of gpu for your simple needs. it will game at mid settings at 1080p for most games if you decide to play other titles. overall it is a good pc for the money (for a prebuilt anyway)
of those 2, the i5 system is the better of the 2. the gpu is leagues ahead of the i7 one and will game well at 1080p as well as handle the other tasks you ask of it. with windows thrown in, it is almost as cheap as building it yourself.

so 1 vote for the i5 system :)

Thanks for your reply, so is the system in a whole very solid? I'm a newbie to all this!

other than the power supply, it is a good machine. no idea about the motherboard either but it does say it is a z87 board which is better than many prebuilts use.

in the future when you are ready tp upgrade the gpu, you'll need a new psu as well. but other than that, it is pretty solid and will allow for a cpu upgrade and such as well if you ver decide to go there.

Fantastic! another possible system would be this one - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-001-OG&groupid=43&catid=2475 but not sure if it's better than the other 2 i've linked.

Go with the i5 build. @Math Geek is right, very big difference when it comes to gaming. GTX 750 Ti, is just a low/mid card compared to the GTX 960 which is a mid/high card.

that one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-001-OG&groupid=43&catid=2475 uses a better power supply and a better mobo but raises the price a bit to compensate. that price also does not include windows. so adding windows and the gtx 960 brings the total to just over 800 pounds. that 100 pounds is for the better power supply and motherboard. this may or may not be worth it to you since overall the performance won't change noticeably for the 100 pounds.

Hmm thanks for that in a bit of a dilemma! I've done some research into the PSU in the first i5 I linked and it's meant to be shocking so that is steering me away from that one! Ultimately I'll only be playing Football Manager on this system aswell as browsing and multi-tasking and the budget I have is around £500-700. Is the 960 worth the upgrade over the 750ti?

Ok, so I'm thinking:

Intel Core i5 4690k
Intel Z97 chipset
8GB DDR3 1600MHz
Nvidia GeForce 750Ti 2048mb graphics card
Seagate Barracuda 1TB hard drive
Windows 8.1
Super Flower 450w PSU

Comes to £758 which I'm willing to pay. :)

Any chance of this bottle necking or should it run fine?
