Pre-existing HDD want upgrade ssd

I have a pre-existing hdd and i want to upgrade to a ssd for my boot drive. how do i move my windows to the ssd? is there a guide out there or any helpful hints?

Your best bet is to do a clean reinstall, but you can clone your OS to the SSD using a number of different tools. Some drives, like Intel, will come with software and there are a number of free programs that will work too, like TODO.

If you do a clean reinstall, make sure to change your sata mode bios setting to AHCI just before the new install.
