Prebuilt PC Mobo Question

So I currently have a prebuilt Asus m51-ad with the i7 4770s and the GTX 760. I am looking at upgrading my Graphics Card to a 1060, but I am wondering if I will have any issues with the new GPU not wanting to work with the old mobo. The model of the board is "K30AD_M31AD_M51AD." I am also wondering if I should just spend a little extra money, and get a new board and case as well seeing as how this one is very small. Does anyone have an idea if this board will be a problem with the new card? Thanks!

The only thing you need to be concerned about is the length of the card and then be concerned into looking for a new psu.
See the image and a get an idea of how your new gtx 1060 will fit inside of it.
Then look at this psu and figure out if both items will fit inside of it.
If yes go ahead and buy them, if not find a smaller compact gtx 1050 or 10g0 gtx card.

You just need a single 6 pin pcie or 6+2 pcie power cable coming from your power supply

i used to run a reference gtx 760 in a prebuilt with a 250~300 watt psu, if anything a gtx 1060 will take less power aside from that i recommend getting a blower style card for your case since it doesnt have a front intake unless you can just add a front intake fan

You don't need a new PSU the 1060 uses 50 lell watts than your old 760.
If your old card was not running hot the new card will be adding less heat to the case.

Don't listen to him check the specifications of the gtx 1060 you want most higher end cards need the power as stated by gpu makers.
Also some gtx 1000 series need a 6 pin molex connector, thats why I recommend you look into a newer psu.

You need to do a lot more research.
The GTX 760 he has already needs a power connector!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The GTX 760 uses 50 more watts than the GTX 1060!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The GTX 760 has a TDP of 170 Watts the GTX 1060 has a TDP of 120 Watts.

Less watts means less heat.

There is a ton of room behind my current GTX 760, so length isn't an issue. It has two 6-pins plugged into it and the only reason I was worried about that was because some of the 1060s I saw had an 8 pin, which I do not have. I suppose my main worry was the Motherboard not liking the new card.

Both of you stated valid information, and as someone who is fairly new into pc building/modifying, I appreciate it. Now I suppose I just need to decide between a 1060 or a Rx480. ^_^

Also, does anyone know if I would be able to transfer this motherboard to a better ventilated case? With it being a prebuild, I'm not sure if I'd be able to or not.

Yes you should be able to do so without much issue, the only deal is you won't have a I/O shield for it.
Make sure the mobo aligns up right with mobo mounting pegs and not screwed on too tight or too lose.
It should fire up immediately if the pwr, reset, hdd led wires are put in the motherboard correctly.
Also if you are deciding between both of these cards go for the gtx 1060 is that one will perform much better.

Thats the best price tag you can get for the gtx1060, look into getting it soon before someone else does.
