I'm sorry if this issue is not allowed here. I will delete it if not.

I just realized that my PS5 cannot support 4K HDR on my Predator X38P.

Support ignores me. At their forums, there's no answer.

I tried to meddle with the settings and also tried three different HDMI cables.

Any tips?

Even at 60hz 3840x1600 is going to be 15.5Gbps with full color sampling. Adding HDR to that...
3840×1600 at 60 Hz RGB takes around 9.3 Gbit/s, not 15.5. It's well within the limit of HDMI 2.0

PS5 supports either 3840×2160 or 1920×1080. The monitor doesn't support 3840×2160 because it doesn't have a high enough vertical resolution, so it's limited to the next lowest option which is 1920×1080. It's just that simple.

Not a 4K monitor, so, first problem. 3840x1600 isn't exactly common either.

I can't find any information about the HDMI port on it, so I can't give a definitive answer there, but I suspect it doesn't have the bandwidth for the resolution, refresh rate, and HDR at the same time, but I could be mistaken.

Looks like HDMI 2.0, not 2.1, which might be the majority of the issues. That limits you to 14.4Gbps, which is about 1440p 120hz.

Even at 60hz 3840x1600 is going to be 15.5Gbps with full color sampling. Adding HDR to that...

You could try a Display Port to HDMI 2.1 cable...that might help in this case.

The HDMI port is 2.0

The problem is that I only have on DP port, so the PC and the PS5 on the same monitor could only work with a splitter in that case.

I ordered a splitter and a HDMI to DP convertor so we will see tomorrow.

Thanks for the responses.

Yes, it seems the case. Fun. :(

Thanks!
