I was noticing stuttering in battlefield 1 in amiens, and I discovered the prefer maximum performance feature. I tried it and it worked. My question was is that considered overclocking? Will it damage my components or shorten the lifespan of my graphics card? Thank you in advance.

Solution
No, in windows 10 power settings it prevents the processor from reducing it's clock speed to save power.
And in Nvidia control panel it prevents the graphics core and memory clock speeds from reducing. This will make the card run hotter at idle, but you shouldn't notice any issues.

I posted both because I wasn't sure which setting you changed.
