Premiere Help

Hey,

I just want to make a DVD of a camping trip I went on a few years ago. I
currently have the trip on VCD and a copy of the Mpeg file on my computer.
Now I have a DVD burner and I'd like to put it on DVD and make a few menus
etc. The problem is the clip has a smaller frame size (I forget what the
exact size is, it is the VCD size). Anyway, I need the size to be 720 x 576.
Can I do this in premiere? If not, what program should I use??

Sightly off topic, but can I convert frame rates in premiere? i.e. from NTSC
to PAL?

Thanks
John

This can be done in Premiere, but you did not list what equipment you have
such as the MHZ of the computer, the size of the file in MB, etc.
Premiere can chnge the format all right, but you will no doubt be
disapointed with the results since you would be going way up in resolution.
Probably about 4 times as big. Depending on the size of the file, it could
take hours to render it as well.

Oh sorry, I didn't think that really mattered for the question. Well, I have
a 2.4Ghz Pentium 4 with 256MB of RAM (I know I should have more but I keep
putting it off for other things) The MPEG file is just around 5mins long and
it is 50MB. It was only a weekend away so that is why it is only 5mins.
Also, am I able to do PAL to NTSC to send to friends overseas and vicaversa?

Thanks Again

With a new machine like that, the rendering time would be fairly small I
imagine. As far as the Pal part. Yeah. But I noticed in the Version I
have(5.1) that it appears to limit it to video for windows size which would
probable be the size of WMP. What version of Pinnacle are you using?

Thanks
