Hi everyone!!
In 2 months will put together new pc for gaming and wanted know some thinks about storage.
I will use MSI B360 GAMING PRO CARBON motherboard. And will use:
  • Samsung 970 EVO 250GB M.2 NVME (Main drive with OS and programms)
  • Western Digital Blue 500GB M.2 SSD (For games and other thinks)
Picture how its will be placed: View: https://imgur.com/a/pffmn9S

And i have some questions:
  1. This settup is correct and compatible?
  2. How hot will get 970 EVO if use it for OS? (I readed its can get very hot and need heat sink)
  3. Nvme 970 Evo will effect video card pci lines?
I know nvme will not give me big difference casual pc using, compare to standard ssd.
I use 2 m.2 ssd because whant less cables in pc case
This motherboard support 1 standard m2 ssd and 1 nvme if i correct.
And compare standart m.2 ssd (250gb) to nvme m.2 (250gb) price is only 15 usd more for evo 970.

Plan is play games at 1080p 144Mhz monitor.
Overall PC components what i plan to buy:
  • Cpu: Intel® Core™ i5-8500
  • Motherboard: MSI B360 GAMING PRO CARBON
  • Ram: Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 16GB 2666MHz (2x8 stick for dual channel)
  • Gpu: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2060 Gaming OC 6GB (3 fan version)
  • Case: Corsair Mid-Tower Case 275R
  • Storage 1: Samsung 970 EVO 250GB M.2 NVME
  • Storage 2: Western Digital Blue 500GB M.2
  • PSU: Be Quiet! Pure Power 11 CM 600W or Be Quiet! Pure Power 10 600W CM BN278
  • Cpu Coller: Be Quiet! Pure Rock BK009
  • Fan: Pure Wings 2 140mm x3 2 Front and 1 back
Last question witch from this 2 psu is batter (price is almost same) :

Your setup is correct:

  • 6 x SATA 6Gb/s ports

  • 2 x M.2 slots (Key M)
    • M2_1 supports up to PCIe 3.0 x4 and SATA 6Gb/s, 2242/ 2260/ 2280/ 22110 storage devices
    • M2_2 supports up to PCIe 3.0 x4, 2242/ 2260/ 2280 storage devices
    • Intel® Optane™ Memory Ready for the M2_2 slot only
"SATA2 port will be unavailable when an M.2 SATA SSD module has been installed in the M2_1 slot."

Be Quiet! Pure Power 11 CM 600W (y)

I don't think storage heat will be an issue in this setup.

Monitor your hardware with this after it's up and running.
