Hello everyone. I´m trying install Intel Memory Optane, but i´m stuck in 2:35 (see the vídeo below)where he ask to extract something (what exacly?) to drivers folder. And i need put something in Windows and winre folder? What i understand so far:
1) Prepare the OS
2) Create temporary folder Win10USB (inside with 3 folders)
3) Copy the Install.win and place in Win10USB (i only find Install.esd and not install.win)
4) Extract something to drivers folder (what?)
5) Run cmd and type the sequences in video
6) Backup the original Install.win and replace with updated version
7) Install the module
8) Configure the BIOS (how?)
9) Install OS
10) Install Intel Optane Memory Setup

Video link: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/memory-and-storage/intel-optane-memory/000023853.html

System info: MSI H270 mortar arctic; i7 7700; 16gb ram; hd 1tb; win 10 pro; optane 16 gb.

I dont know if need do this, but when i enable M2/Optane genie in BIOS, the RAID is enabled too; after reboot, show a black screen asking to reboot or insert boot dvd.

Any help is very appreciated.

Solution
Optane uses raid to work, so you will need to reinstall win 10 in raid for it to use the extra cache drive. Since your previous install probably uses AHCI, win 10 can't boot and offers the flashing cursor at boot

this might help: https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/memory-and-storage/optane-memory/intel-optane-memory-user-installation.pdf - it at least mentions where to find install.wim, the file name he mentions might take a few listens to write down

It should help with other questions as well.

Thanks. So I managed to install the optane, but I did a big mess. After completing the installation, I added a 2nd HD with minor storage and the system backed to ACHI mode. When I enable M2 and Raid, can't recognize optane anymore, only can be recognized in ACHI mode, if I change to raid, show that M2 is not present.

Did you look in the IRST software in windows, while running HDD in RAID mode, to see if it can see the M.2. You don't boot off the Optane drive, its just a cache for the hdd, so it is invisible to both windows and maybe also to the boot menu.

IS M.2 still enabled in Bios/Settings/Advanced
two headings there refer to M.2 both in terms of Rapid Storage Tech & another which enables/disables M.2 raid

You should be able to set the AHCI/RAID settings for individual hdd as many people have a ahci drive as boot and raid arrays for storage.I can't see anywhere that specific though, just the heading you likely changing now. Unless I missed a menu or Manual isn't complete enough, it appears all your sata devices are restricted to either being all AHCI or all RAID, but that doesn't seem right.

I would be tempted to ask on here as its their motherboard and they should be able to help solve this: https://forum-en.msi.com/

I find similar cases in Intel Community, where no module detected (see links below, but nothing work)
https://communities.intel.com/thread/115000
https://communities.intel.com/thread/115403

My current situation: https://communities.intel.com/thread/115939

i´ll try in msi community too.

As soon as I completely solved the problem, I'll do this. The one that replied in my post was me, I just updated the situation. But maybe same cases that I found can help others. For now I'm waiting if someone from Intel can help me.
My current situation is that I can't reset optane and diskpart clean all doest work. I listed what I did as reply here:
https://communities.intel.com/thread/115939

In the end, tried many things and nothing work, so i asked a technician to solve, i dont know what he did, but now is working fine.

If someone has problem with optane, maybe the below links can help
