I have the above compaq desktop pc. Last night my wife tripped our fuse box by having too many electrical items on. When i went to turn on my pc this morning it didnt boot up. I took the motherboard battery out and left it out for 5 minutes, put it back in and tried booting the pc up, it started and i was able to login okay. I shut it down as i needed to go to work this morning. Now I am home, the pc is not starting again. when i booted it this morning, i went into boot settings and noticed the time and date was not set, i set it and pressed f10 to save and exit.
Could the tripping on the houses fuse box have messed up my bios? The battery on the motherboard is working, i tested it in another device and it powered that device okay. I don't know what has happened to my pc here?

I would change the battery if you cannot test the voltage.
they are available everywhere. CR2032 lithium button cell. I get them at the dollar store.
when the system does not keep time it is the battery.
frequent power outtages will drain the button cell faster.
