Pressing a key and a different character appears

This has happened twice now, both after operating for a while, where I go to press a key and it registers as a different input. My keyboard is set up for US English. It registers jkliop as 1-6 respectively with M being zero (Or something close to that)

Maybe it is Numlock on the keyboard
I got a laptop keyboard that doesn't have numpad, but numlock changes some the keys to numbers

I'm not entirely sure, but it's possible. It stops when I reset my computer, but I'll try the numlocking next time it happens.

Given the keys you stated it is most likely the numlock key is on. Assuming that this is a laptop, espically a smaller or an older one that does not have a seperate keypad.

If it is a numlock issue then the keys that type wrong characters should have those wrong characters in small print on the keys.
