This is just a post to rant. I have a problem with my video memory on my V7700. The store I purchased it from went out of business, so I have to send it to Asus. No big deal right? Well they're telling me to expect at least a 3 week turn around. That is unacceptable, however, my hands are tied. I think my next card will be a Radeon.

And how would the situation be any different with a Radeon?

My hope would be that with ATI, their turn around time would be a lot less than Asus. Asus has only one office in North America, and that is in Newark, California. Hardly adequate to deal with all of North America. I sell, and repair these things, and trying to tell a client, sorry you have to wait close to a month for this thing to be repaired isn't the most convenient thing to do.

I guess I compare all this to the way Lexmark does business. If the printer breaks under warranty, they ship you a new one, and then you just return the old one back to them. That is customer service.

I actually installed a drive in a customer's computer from IOMega. The company that deals with their RMAs here in Canada was awful when it came to returning it. At any rate, I have put my last IOmega drive in anyone's computer. I like the company, I don't like the service. Anyone can have a defective part, and I understand that, however, if the service is not up to my client's expectations, then there is no point in using that company anymore. Most companies I have found to be very good though.
