I recently received my Sapphire HD 7750 1 GB DDR5 graphic card...
Installed it, updated the drivers!!
As far as functionality is concerned, it's working fine!!
However I am facing a strange problem!
I used to think that since discrete gpu's have their own RAM they don't need to share/depend on system RAM.
But even after having it's own 1GB dedicated GDDR5 RAM for some reason it's sharing the system memory up to 1GB!!
I've only 3GB of DDR2 RAM. I would like to disable this shared memory so that I could have more memory for programs, but there is no such option in CCC. Even the DVMT setting in the BIOS seems to have mysteriously disappeared after I installed the card!!
Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?
Also since my system RAM is only DDR2 and the HD 7750 has GDDR5 RAM, if it is sharing system memory-won't that mean the GDDR5 RAM will have to operate at a slower speed of DDR2 RAM?
So how can I prevent the hd 7750 from sharing my system RAM so that I can get more performance?
