In what way is this game "Prey"? Have any of the developers even played Prey? About the only similarities I see are that both games take place in space, and give the player some unique abilities. Nothing else seems remotely similar. The whole premise of Prey was that a biological alien structure suddenly arrives near Earth and begins harvesting humans and resources to feed on and incorporate into itself. This new game looks more like System Shock crossed with the Aliens series. People complained about the cancelled Prey 2 that was shown off a few years back for not looking much like Prey, but at least that had some vague similarities, and didn't just re-use the name of its predecessor.

And Prey only came out around ten years ago, so the series isn't even really due for a reboot. I'd not even call this a "reboot" though, or even a "re-imagining", since it appears to contain practically nothing that would make anyone think of the original game. It's almost like they were working on an entirely unrelated game, then figured they might as well tack on the "Prey" name, since they owned the rights to the property.

The game itself does look like it has the potential to be really cool, but it seems bizarre that they would try to market it as a reboot of a totally different game, when the two look nothing alike.
