Question [price check] gaming pc

i have a pc with an asrock am3 mobo with 16gb of ddr3 ram and a fx8320 overclocked to 3.85 i wanna buy an 580 8gb a 500 watt psu a $20 ssd and a cheapo hdd a n $80 (or so) case (including fans) is it worth it? and how much do you think i could sell it for in a fairly wealthy area (it will probably be local)

Is it worth it? No.

Why? Because your CPU-MoBo-RAM combo is worth about $100 and at today's standards, it's performance is slow. What you have is dead platform (AM3+ socket) with 0 upgrade paths. Also, if you'd sank another $300 into it, the PC's resale value would only increase $150.

Why the resale value doesn't increase by $300? Well, if you buy e.g brand new GPU for $200 and then sell the same GPU to someone else, GPU warranty doesn't transfer. Without warranty, component value drops 50% from brand new price.
