I am running an amd fx 6300. I previously was using a corsair h60 to cool it but my cpu was getting too hot. I had recently switched to a custom water cooling loop expecting better temperatures, but I am getting about the same temperature. I am using distilled water as my coolant and a thick 120mm radiator. I idle at about 45 to 50 degrees Celsius.

arvin429,

Recent versions of Prime95 such as 28.5 run AVX code on your processor's Floating Point Unit (FPU) math coprocessor, which produces unrealistically high temperatures. The FPU test in the software utility AIDA64 shows the same results.

Please download Prime95 version 26.6 - http://windows-downloads-center.blogspot.com/2011/04/prime95-266.htm

Please run only Small FFT’s for 10 minutes.

Your Core temperatures will test 10 to 20C lower.

Thanks,
