Question Primary drive switched between computers runs slowly

Hi everyone, I have 2 PC's, one at my studio and one at home, now I had recently recorded a large chunk of music onto the studio pc, but wanted to mix and master it on my home pc, so instead of trying to clear space on my phone (it's was 22gb of audio and I don't have an external HDD) I decided to just take the drive and plug it in as a tertiary on my home pc. It ran absolutely fine and still does when in my home pc, however, when I put it in the studio pc as the primary (as it was originally) everything runs painfully slow, we're talking 4 minutes to open a song file. Can anyone tell me what's going on here?

Would get an external, back up the data, then run a chkdsk repair. Failing that, a windows repair.

Yeah thats probably what I'll do, I'm more curious as to why it occurred really...
