Hello,

May I ask I'm going to purchase soon this CPU ryzen 3 1200, Motherboard Asus prime b350 plus and Ram 2x4GB CRUCIAL DDR4 2400MHZ (CT4G4DFS824A), My problem here is upon looking at the b350 memory QVL, the ram is not on the list of the compatibility will this be a problem? or will the computer even boot-up? Any help will be appreciated.

Solution
it should not have any issue. 2400 mhz is a far more common standard, than those speed above 2666+.
both intel and AMD supports this speed with very little issue.

AMD platform, most 2400 or even 2666 ram don't have compatibility issue with b350 boards in general. there is a direct relationship between cpu performance and memory speed for AMD cpu, hence, a number of user tries to overclock their memory above 2666+ to get more performance. and that's where most of the compatibility occur. many issue has already been address through the most recent bios update.

Since you are running a gen1 ryzen with 2400mhz, i doubt there is much issue with compatibility. it's up to you if you want take the risk and update the board to the latest bios.
The best answer is "Probably" it will boot. You may only be able to run the RAM at 2133 rather than 2400. There is no way to know for sure. If it boots, then be sure to update the BIOS to the latest version. That will have the best RAM compatibility. After a BIOS update you can try the DOCP (AMD equivalent of XMP) to see if your RAM will run at 2400.
