I have a Asus Prime Z370-A Motherboard and just installed Corsair CMW32GX4M2D3600C18 2x16GB sticks. Per the manual I have them installed in A2 and B2 on the board. I see the LEDs are lit on the RAM, however the DRAM light on the motherboard slowly blinks, then fast blinks, then goes solid. I can't get this to work in this configuration in A2 and B2. If I move the one 16GB stick from B2 to A1, then I'm able to boot.

I also tried using a pair of CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 2xGB RAM, matched pair trying it in A2 and B2 and same issue with blinking and not getting into BIOS. If I swap B2 to A1 then I'm able to boot. However I then do not get the dual channel.

Tearing my hair out here and hoping to get some input from the community. I'm currently on the latest PRIME-Z370-A-ASUS-3005 BIOS. I've used Auto settings for everything in BIOS when using just one stick of either, then powered down and inserted the second stick in B2 and same issue. I've enabled XMP and tried the same but no change.

Hi, thank you for the response. Please see my responses to your questions below:

  • It's an Intel Core i7 8700K.
  • Yes the Ram is seating very well, inserted and re-inserted several times. The ram has LED lighting and lights up bright and changes colors when the system is powered on.
  • The CPU was inserted a year ago with absolutely no bent pins, haven't had any issues with this system or CPU.
Edit: I also tried inserting the ram into A1 and B1 instead of A2 and B2 and it exhibits the same behavior. Seems I can only pair any ram up both in A or both in B.
