[SOLVED] PRIME Z590-A RAM Issue

My PRIME Z590-A only shows RAM as 2666, even though the RAM is 3200.

I also tried it with 3600 but it would still only show it as 2666.

Anyone here understand what am I doing wrong? The motherboard specs says it naively supports upto 3200 (without OC).

Enable DOCP in BIOS.

Enable DOCP in BIOS.

By DOCP you mean enabling XMP, but that's Overclocking it. Per the specs, the motherboard supports upto 3200 natively (without OC = Over clocking). I am trying to get the 3200 work without overclocking it as it should?

What processor are you using?

I would just enable XMP it's no big deal.
And yes DOCP is for AMD processors for Asus.

It may not be OC for the CPU, it may be XMP for the motherborad, but the fact is that for most (if not all) RAM sticks anything above 2666MHz is considered OC (in the case of DDR4 3200 kits is factory OC ready and tested).

So I think theres no other way around but to enable XMP on the BIOS. Some motherboard may do evertyhing without user intervention, others wont.

used to be (and sometimes still is) 2400MHz base clock for the lower end kits. In an easy way it its related to the memory chips that comes with each stick of RAM. Well kinda harder and longer to explain than that but its a short way to put it.
