After running a Prime95 Merged test, in under a minute this error occurs for my 8th worker only. Is this a sign of a broken CPU that needs to be replaced or can this be fixed as i believe it is the cause of multiple BSODs. My CPU has not been overclocked. I have previously tested my RAM cards with memtest and they did not give any errors if that helps.

Here is an image of what i'm talking about.
After trying the test again it happened to worker #6 instead of #8

Solution

I agree. I've had a couple of the higher end MSI boards and they are really nice. I wouldn't touch the cheap ones though.

I am using a Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 Motherboard with an 800W PSU.

Make sure the system does not have a overclocking driver installed, reboot to BIOS and update it or reset it to defaults.
I would also update the CPU chipset drivers for the motherboard also. Set your fans to max speed and rerun the tests while watching a thermal monitor program.

That is one extremely poor quality PSU. It's likely the cause of your problems. I doubt it is filtering ripple or regulating the 12v rail at all, which is making your low end motherboard's vrms do all of the work. Recipe for total catastrphic failure.

Is it possible this could of already caused damage to the CPU? Or do you think that replacing the PSU may fix this problem. For reference I was testing my CPU to see if it was the reason i was getting random 'WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR' Blue screens.

Would you have any specific suggestion based on my current CPU? Sorry to be such a hassle.

i'm conflicted haha, what would you suggest which isn't too pricy?

You are mistaking their low end AMD boards, like the 970a-G43 and G46. Their Gaming series boards are top notch.
