Prime95 rounding error

Hey guys, só i ran prime95 stock cpu (i5 4570) cant even overclock it. But my ram is overclocked from 1333 to 1600 at 9-9-9-24 1.5V and 1.55V and gave me error both times. They are Max 1333mhz 9-9-9-24!
Im trying now With 1333 do you guys think it was because of that? Thanks.

Possible. Timings might have been too aggressive.

yes, most likely. If your testing for stability, then you should be running everything at stock for testing, so that you have a consistent baseline to work from, and compare to.

Set everything at stock, test for 8 hrs + If you want to test cpu only use Small FFt's which stress only CPU and cache. Then alternatively a blend test will do both CPU and Ram.

Personally I use memtest (dos based program) to test my mem, and Prime for CPU stability.

Did with stock for 1 hour went fine (1 hour is small time but since i got errors at 5 mins (at 1600MHz) now must bê fine.
How can i overclock to 1600 safelly? Or should i use cl8 1333

well, the thing to remember about OC'ing, is to make sure it's stable You start OC'ing low, and work up in increments, testing along the way to ensure it's stable. It's time consuming. It can be worth the effort. I have a an older system OC'ed and the benefit is huge. But to just OC ram, isn't going to be much benefit to you at all.

Ram is funny, you can have fast speeds, but higher latencies, or slower speeds with small latencies. If your CPU is running at 1333 or equivalent, it's absolutely no benefit to you (or at least practically no benefit) to OC just the ram. Your CPU/system, simply won't avail of the OC.

If overclocking, always read about your CPU/Mobo/Ram combination. Put all three in a google search and add 'guide' and you will get some info on how to OC safely, and with stability. You will need to do some work here to be confident when doing it.

Hm ok Thanks! But should i see some fps increase when playing bf3 skyrim or bioshock infinite when going from 1333MHz to 1600MHz?

sorry, your missing the point. Me telling you what settings to put in is most likely not going to work. Each mobo/cpu/ram is different from the next. YOU will need to research YOUR combo of ram/cpu/mobo, and YOU determine what the best settings are. What works for one PC, doesn't mean it will work for yours.

no, prob will barely see any difference in FPS. If you change your GPU/cpu you will see some difference, but generally not with just an increase in ram speed. There may be a very small increase, but not worth the instability of having your ram poorly configured (OC'ed badly)
