i know these might be stupid questions but im a noob at OCing. im using a i5 8600k on a asrock z370 taichi overclock to 4.8GHz and core voltage at 1.280 - 1.296 V with a h100i for cooling. Memory NB frequency is at 3998.0 - 40001.0 MHz. I used prime95 and worker#1-6 passed Self-test 24k so maybe did testing for almost 25 min or more. temps went as high as 87°c then dropped to low 60°c. so is this a good thing? should i overclock it more? should i get a new cpu cooler like a noctua nh d15 or a new watercooler? is 4.8GHz a pretty sweet spot? i know 5GHz is the best but like i said im a noob at this. please help me or give me some advice

Hi drew209cali,

4.8GHz is a sweet spot. It doesn't require too much voltage but your temps seams High for that overclock/cooler.

Is your voltage on "AUTO"?
What is your mean temp?

About your cooler, when it will die (and it will for sure), come back to air with a noctua NH15 or a Dark Rock Pro 3/4.

Tips : Stay below 80-85°C during stress test and below 1.35-1.38V for daily usage.

Mean temp = The average of your temperature during the stress test because if you have a spike of 83°C but a mean of 60°C, That's great but a mean of 82°C is just acceptable.

Are you sure abou the voltages you gave me? With those voltages, your CPU shoud be dead right now.
