Print screen while in game results in a black picture

Taking screenshots in games with windows key+prt screen results in a black picture. I remember that on my old computer i was able to get a good screenshot using this method but now it just doesn't work,is there a way to fix this ? I am using windows 8,only in game pictures are black,desktop screenshots are normal

Print screen will only work in borderless window or window mode. DirectX applications that take exclusive fullscreen will not allow you to use print screen.

Try looking through the game's video settings and try to find a borderless mode.

Another solution would be to use a program like FRAPS to take a screenshot.

Print screen is more so meant for Windows. However, a lot of games have a in-game key for taking screenshots, you can perhaps use that, or like korean suggested, perhaps download a screenshot program such as FRAPS.
