I have a Toshiba e-Studio 250 Scanner/Fax/Copier (it is probably about 12 years old). I am trying to use it as a printer from Windows 10 (X64).

I go to "Add A Printer", it doesn't detect the printer, but if I give it the network IP address, it finds a printer. It asks me what driver to install. I tried several of the Toshiba drivers as well as generic (text only), but all my test pages have the page in the queue with a printer error Status="Error- Printing."

I can ping the printer without a problem.

During the installation, I get a screen Called "Additional port information required" (See oartial screen capture on http://i651.photobucket.com/albums/uu232/asegal0000/ToshibaPrinterInstall_zpsrkbktju9.jpg and for the "Device Type" in additional port I have tried a generic network com card, and the "Toshiba e-STUDIO Series network printer"

Does anyone know how I can setup this printer for use on Windows as a printer, and maybe even as a scanner?

Does the following link match your printer:

http://www.digitalsystemcopiers.com/Toshiba%20E-Studio_250.html

Do you have the User Guide or Manual? I googled for the guide/manual but had at least three sites were blocked by my AV/Malware software.

And a couple of other sites only seemed to address the functions of the Toshiba and not the connectivity; e.g. "networking" per se.

Did you set up a static IP address for the printer via your router?

What settings are available within "Custom"?

For the most part what you need to do is reserve and assign a static IP for the printer on network router. The static IP address should be outside of the available DHCP IP address range and reserved for the printer via the printer's MAC.

I googled "how to network a toshiba printer" and found several links similar to the following link:

If you are certain that the network configuration is correct then the problem may narrow down to the applicable driver(s). If any....
