I'm planning to buy a printer under 50$. I'll rarely prints color image. I'll use it to print my college reports, etc.. what printer should I buy? is Canon BJC2100 SP good enough for this?

I'm sure it would be fine for printing documents but if you planned on doing anything else with it I'd say spend the extra money and get something a little better. My experiences with cannon printers havn't been very good. You can probably hunt around and find a basic hp or lexmark for around the same price.

I have a little prejudice against Canon printers and scanners, hm.

Guess I just got some crappy ones. multiscan 3000c or 3100c. can't remember. Had problems from day one. I had another canon bj a few years ago. It pooped out pretty quick too. I've never used one of their scanners though.

I can get Canon BJC 2100 SP, HP Deskjet 640C and Lexmark Z33 with a close same price. Which one should I get?

I'd go with the Lexmark Z33!!! It's fast and prints excellent quality. My friend has one and loves it.

Yeah, I'd go with the Lexmark. I've heard nothing but good things about them and print quality looks pretty good from what I've seen.
