Hi All -
This was originally posted on c.s.h misc., so excuse the crossposting.

I have an H-P 694C printer. Suddenly it displays " out of paper, add
paper" or words to that effect, even tho' there is lots of paper in the
tray.

Also it will suddenly and randomly start printing in about 48 point size
letters.

I ruined the installation CD this morning so I cannot reinstall the
software.

Any and all help is appreciated.

The first thing I would check would be the cable. If either the printer end or
the computer end is loose it could cause both the problems you are seeing. If
the cable is OK (and snugly connected) the try disconnecting the cable and
running a self test as shown at the following:

If the printer still indicates an out of paper ocndition when printing a
