Question Printer Monitoring

I am installing an HP Enterprise M507 printer for a classroom. The teacher needs to monitor the students' printing. What program can I use to do so?

Not sure on HP printers but on Dell printers you can log into them, normally i just use the IP address to do this (network attached), and it will tell you the job name, user, computer name, and what time it was printed.

A quick google search brought up PaperCut Print Logger as one of the top free.

What I was told was that they want the ability to have a student print from anywhere, not just in the classroom. Now I'm not sure if what they're asking for is possible in our environment. Right now it looks like I would have to set up a print server as well as find some program to monitor the students' printing (such as putting the student's ID on a separator page and seeing how many pages a student printed).
