Printer not taking refilled ink cart

Hi.. I bought a refilled HP ink cartridge. When I try to print it says "The cartridges listed above are not tended for use in this printer as it is currently configured". I'm not sure if there is a way to configure it to have it work? I looked through the printing setting and didn't find anything.

I contacted the person I bought this from and will try getting a refund, but I need to print something that is somewhat important.

so just a long shot, I'll ask here if anyone knows any tricks to that might be able to get it working?

and should I just not bother with refilled cartridges if this one doesn't work? or are some better than others?

Refilling your old spent cartridges are fine. But if you are buying refilled cartridges off the street, there is no saying as to what you are really getting.
