Hi,
I have a problem that may be simple (At least i am hoping it will be) for some of you.
I have three PC's (Two XP, One Win 7) and a Printer (Ricoh Aficio MP2510) that were all online and working no problem.
My ISP router stopped allowing Wireless, so i rang them up. They cam out and gave me a new router.
I had to restart all of my machines to reconnect to the internet. But when i did, the Printer says "Online", but when i try to print, i get an error after a while saying "cannot connect to the device" and tells me to click properties. When i do that, i get this error "device cannot be opened because there is no response from the device".

Unfortunately, i have since wiped and done a fresh install of Windows 7, so i cannot test with that, as i have no drivers on it or anything.

But i am having the same problem on both Windows XP machines.

Hope someone can help, i'm really in a spot of bother.

Hi dm-mtl - thanks for your reply.
I think so.
The ip address is on the printer and a gateway, How do i check?

It is shared, and a hand appears under it cradling it.
Nothing was changed except a new router.

Here are all the drivers, but i don't know which to install, or should i install all of them?

on the printer itself, you should be able to print the network configuration. This will tell us what ip and gateway was set to the printer. The issue is, if the new router has a different ip subnet... you wont be able to talk to the printer until its changed to the new routers subnet.

Also... if this was a wireless installation... you might need to re-enter the new SSID and pass-key.

I printed it out, and i have
IP Address: 010.010.001.144
Sub-net Mask: 255.000.000.000
Gateway Address: 010.010.001.254
Domain Name:
DNS Domain: static

How do i change it to the new routers subnet?

Sorry if that's daft.
I have tried to log in to my router, but i don't know the Password. It says in the box it's printed under the modem, but it isn't.
I have tried 1234, admin and password.
It is a zyxel D1000.

on windows xp. Go to start - run - type: cmd (press enter)

type in: ipconfig /all (press enter)

look for the network card details (ip address, gateway, etc) see if the gateway is the same and the ip is in the same range as the printer

I am trying that now.
I can see it, and i am going to enter the new ones into the printer.. Back in a sec.

No they are different.

On the PC:
IP Address - 192.168.1.4
Subney Mask - 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway - 192.168.1.254

So i went to system setting on printer -> Interface
and changed ip address - 192.168.1.8
and gateway to - 192.168.1.252

Is that right?

Just make sure not to use an ip address that is already in use. Once it's updated on the printer... go to one of the computers and update the ports of the printer(new ip of printer) if that is a little complicated... you could always just re-install the printer with the new ip address.

So would i be better off uninstalling it?

I have made the IP end with 18 instead of 08 as that was taken.

Should i keep the gateway as it was?

I have gone to printing preferences and tried to change the port, but it tells me there was an error and it could not be completed.
