Printer sharing windows 7

Hello,I have a new Windows 7 system that I have connected a local printer to (Cannon iP4200). I have a XP based lap top that I want to access this printer from. I can see the conputer (the windows 7 one) but when I try to access the printer, I am promted with a user name and password. I Have tried the "homegroup" one and my user name, but thios does not work. Can anyone help me? -- Ola--
