I reinstalled windows 10 on my laptop a few weeks ago and all is okay except it doesn't recognise my inkjet printer so I can't do any printing now. Does anyone know how I can get round this problem? Thanks.

The printer is a canon i250. It's old but worked perfectly before I did a restore. It probably came with a disc but I'm not sure where that is now. Any ideas how I can get my laptop to recognise the printer. I'm almost certain I didn't need a tool to use the printer when I first bought this laptop. Thanks.
printer make and model?

Unlikely that the printer came with a disc.

As above "install the driver".

Try having Windows look for/find a driver.....

Go to Canon's website and manually download the printer's drivers.

Install and configure as applicable. No third party installers or tools.

I found this website:

https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/i250

Be sure that you are at Canon's website and try to find driver even though the driver may be old and unupported.

Do be careful.

Just because "Canon" may appear in the URL path name that does not mean that the website is actually Canon.

They may have the "driver" but who knows what all else could come with that "driver".
