PRINTERS Canon MG5420 - my printer not recognizing refilled ORIGINAL cartridges that came with computer

When I bought printer 6 months ago, it worked like an angel - it takes Canon Inks 250 / 251

I replaced inks with what I found out to be "imitation" Canon inks - after that printing results were very bad...

So, I took the ORIGINAL cartridges Canon 250/251 and had them each filled at Costco...
now I'm getting support Canon support code 1600, saying inks are low, should refill!!

Anyone know what I should do next?

Buy some original Canon cartridges.

Yes, just hold down the "stop" button for a few seconds, and the message will disappear. You should then be able to print just fine.

I have been refilling my cartridges for this printer with no problem, except for the blue. I don't get that message when I put the blue cartridge back in, so I think my printer is not recognizing that there is ink. I absolutely cannot figure this out (my problem). However, I think you'll be able to print just fine once you hold down that stop button.....

You'll need a new chip on the cartridges. you might be able to bypass it by holding the stop button when the error comes up however.
