Question Printing bottleneck in Adobe Acrobat DC ?

Hi all - this is my first post so apologies if it is in the wrong forum.

I have an issue when printing from Adobe Acrobat DC. I click print and the print pop up opens (I'm using a MacBook) but then if I click print, nothing happens.

The only workaround is to click the "Printer" button at the bottom and then click "print once again". Not sure the cause of this extra step or if anyone knows how to disable it?

Reinstall Adobe Acrobat DC.

The current installation may be buggy or corrupt.

I'm not an Apple person so I can't tell you how to flush the document queue. I can however, tell you that most of printer problems I've ever seen can be solved by pulling the printer's power cord, letting it sit for about 15 minutes, then plugging it back in. Yes, I mean pull the power cord. I don't mean turn it off.
