I can't print a PDF doc. on Windows 10 pc. I have Acrobat Reader DC installed and Canon MP480 printer. Any ideas please?

Does the printer show up in "devices and printers" and is it selected as the default? If it is there it should print if chosen and you can set it as default with a right click and choice.

And what driver did you use on install? Is it attached with a USB cable?

I can print other docs ok. If I convert pdf to image it will print ok. It has me puzzled

That is correct. Also will not print emails. I have seen in other forums that Microsoft Edge is the problem but no one seems to have the solution. Any thoughts on this?

I have just run a trouble shoot on my printer and message comes up as follows: usb composite device can't work properly with usb 3.0 Now as a senior citizen I am not up to speed with tech problems so any advice please?

All ports are blue. I tried again to print your email reply. still only getting bits printed your dog logo for instance and other bits but none of your message. Thanks for all your patient replies

There should be a couple ports on the back that are not blue, usually white, black or even red.

What model is your computer?

Normally you would plug your KB and mouse into those, but perhaps you can use one for your printer. All of the OS versions before Windows 10 did not have native USB 3.0 drivers so this was very important for older machines.

Have found a black port but still no joy. My pc is a Lenovo H30

I have found a black port but still no joy. My pc is a Lenovo 90C20060UK. Do you think that maybe the printer is not compatible with Windows 10 OS?

It is a pretty old printer so that is possible.

I would try installing the newest set of drivers from the Canon using compatibility mode (right click on driver installer and choose compatibility tab and set it to the OS that the driver is for (Windows 7 or 8).

I have done that still no joy. I think a new printer is going to be the solution. Thanks for all your help you have been very patient. Regards Arthur_23
