I am about to do a system restore, on my compaq presario Windows Xp Due to my
inability to correctly diagnose and fix the numerous problems that have
recently occured. (I tried to install a lexmark printer and got the spooler
and rpc messages. I read the article another newsgroup referred me to but I
do not really understand and or trust my ability to do as the article says I
should.) So I am going to do a s.r., and my question is because I do
purchased my comp at one of those rent to own places, I did not recieve any
of the disks that i should have. So if I do a s.r. is there any chance that I
may need those to get up and running again. Thank You. my email is
lilmissluke@yahoo.com or lilmissluke@hotmail.com THANKS AGAIN

Did you receive any documentation, literature with your computer?

If so it will have a section about restoring your windows xp. It's possible
it will explain how to restore your windows from a hidden files on your hard
drive.

It sounds like something I would use a "SFC /scannow" command to try and
fix...the problem is that you will need the Windows CD to fix problems if
found by SFC.
