So my nephews tend to watch youtube and do other things on the net while I'm playing my online games and it lags pretty bad. I check when I start lagging and they are not watching in HD 1080/720 so there's no reason for me to lag. We have pretty fast internet, I download 1.7mb/sec when my nephews aren't youtubing. I've looked around and I heard of "bandwidth restricting" or something like that which limits the bandwidth they are allowed to use. It all seems too confusing for me to set up.
Pretty much what I want to ask is if there are any other ways to limit their bandwidth so I don't lag anymore. I normally use a desktop and they use laptops, we are all on wifi but I am able to connect my desktop to the ethernet cable directly to the router (will it prioritize the things I'm doing over theirs?). If not are there other ways?
