Hi
Made the folders private for one user, as I was informed that users on the
same PC can open them. The result is that some people having the rights to
read them over LAN, cannot acces these folders any more. Any ideas?
Thanks

Add those users to permissions (Pro or Home) or make them members of a new
group (Pro only) and add their group to the permissions.

If using XP Home, boot to safe mode to access the Security/Sharing pages in
the folders' properties. If using XP Pro, disable simple file sharing using
Folder Options> View. Then right click, select Properties to see the
Security/Sharing pages.
