Hi,

For some reason I can't invite people to chat from
Zonemessages anymore. The problem occured after a zonechat
update. Am I the only one with this problem?

ZChat.dll hasn't been updated since November of last year, but you can
delete the file, then reenter the Zone for a fresh copy.

Recently updated files are Zone.exe (April), Zclient.exe (April) and
Zonecli.dll (February). Delete them and try again. Also all the files
in the ZSetup folder installed in May.

I did what you said.
It didn't help. Still no private chat.
I always used it after playing bridge for an "afterchat".
(like a sigaret ;-))
Another possible solution?

Do you have a firewall? Some require that programs be removed from the
allowed list, then the new version be added. New ports may have been
added to the list of required ports too.

thx again for the response.
But this is a bit too technical for me.
I have Norton Antivirus, could that be the problem?
Adding ports? How do u do that?
The internal firewall of XP i have switched off.

Norton Internet Security is a firewall, but not Norton Antivirus. If
you have a firewall or router, help with the ports can be found here:

The problem could be with the Zone; I haven't tried inviting anyone to
chat in quite awhile.

I've noticed ZoneFriends seldom logs on so I suspect problems with the
servers. It's possible the chat rooms are temporarily down. I would
have tried a chat, but couldn't get logged in to ZoneFriends.
