Hello all! so I've recently made a new PC with my primary drive being a Samsung 850 Evo with my windows 10 64bit OS installed on it and I use a 2 TB WD drive for my storage.

My question is:

- Is "maximum performance" option under "OS optimization" using the Samsung magician software worth it and...

- is enabling rapid mode worth it?

From the research I've done, it seems that the technical community is divided on the subject; some reviews and people say that OS optimization and or rapid mode enabled does make a slight different in performance, but others say that OS optimization and rapid mode are trash and cause BSOD errors. The samsung magician software was just recently updated this month to a new version that allowed rapid mode to be used in windows 10, but I need to appeal to some expert windows/SSD users to fully understand if I should enable these features or not on my new system.

I want to get the very best performance out of my system, and I want to make sure everything is working at peak performance before I finish installing the rest of my software on my new PC; thus, I really need some informed assistance on if I should enable "maximum performance under OS optimization tab" in windows magician, and if I should enable or disable "rapid mode" in Samsung magician software.

My system info is as follows:

- samsung 850 EVO
- i7 5820
- 16gb of DDR4 ram
- nvidia GTX 980

thx much for any help!

Thx much for the feedback. I would use the "custom optimization" option but it seems that the pre-sets for the "high performance" option are all very good as I read over each one. I don't know if I know enough about SSD's to custom set the settings myself better than the preset options.

custom is great if you have lots of ram(16+). if you allows you to basically eliminate the page file. I love Samsung SSD, I have some by other makers, and they're good, but they're not Samsung. Have fun with your system. :)

Can you please post your exact custom settings for the very best performance possible for the following specs; I have 16gigs of DDR4 ram and a Samsung Evo 850.
